Luton have signed goalkeeper Alex Palmer on an emergency loan deal from West Bromwich Albion.
Jed Steer suffered an Achilles injury in the FA Cup defeat against Chelsea, and James Shea has a hamstring issue, so the club were granted permission from the EFL to sign a goalkeeper on an emergency basis.
Having come through the Hawthorns academy, Palmer joined Lincoln City on loan last season and played 57 times for the Imps as they progressed to the League One play-off final where they were beaten by Blackpool.
Prior to his time at Sincil Bank he had respective loan spells with Plymouth Arygle, Kidderminster Harriers and Notts County.
This term, the 25-year-old made his senior West Brom debut in the Carabao Cup against Arsenal and has been on the bench five times in the league for the Baggies, as well as playing for their U23s in Premier League 2.
Former England schoolboy international Palmer was signed in time to be eligible for tomorrow’s trip to Middlesbrough.
