New deals have been offered to four key Luton Town players who were instrumental in winning promotion to the Premier League.

Negotiations are ongoing with history-making Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu, defender Tom Lockyer, Amari’i Bell and Luke Berry with a view to extending their time at Kenilworth Road.

Lockyer was Town’s player of the season, scooping give individual awards at the annual Luton Town Supporters’ Trust awards bash. He returned home from hospital today after collapsing on the Wembley pitch early in the play-off final victory over Coventry on Saturday.

Mpanzu wrote his name in football history with that win confirming him as the only player ever to go from the non-league to the Premier League with one club. The popular midfielder joked immediately after achieving the feat that he might retire this summer, saying he’s “completed football”. But after nine years as a Hatter, fans will be hoping he puts pen to paper to complete that journey by playing for Luton in the top flight.

Bell and Berry have both said winning promotion to the Premier League is “what dreams are made of” and a “dream come true”, respectively, with the latter having been with Town since League Two.

The news comes as part of the club’s end of season retained and release list, in which they’ve exercised the option for a further year for Gabe Osho, Dan Potts and Elliot Thorpe.

Sonny Bradley, along with Henri Lansbury and Harry Isted have been released and Josh Neufville has signed for AFC Wimbledon, while loan stars Marvelous Nakamba, Ethan Horvath and Cody Drameh have all returned to their parent clubs.

Returning to Luton from loan spells away from the club will be Matt Macey (from Portsmouth), Glen Rea (Cheltenham), Dion Pereira (Bradford), Carlos Mendes Gomes (Fleetwood) and John McAtee (Grimsby)
