Goalkeeper Simon Sluga has not dislocated his should and could still be fit to face Norwich City tomorrow night, with Harry Isted recalled from a loan spell as a precaution.

The young stopper had been with Wealdstone but it was confirmed yesterday that he was heading back to the Hatters, sparking fears that their Croatian international was injured.

Sluga had needed treatment during Saturday’s 4-0 Championship defeat at Cardiff after slipping an injuring his shoulder, but he played on for the entire match.

He will now be assessed ahead of the game tomorrow, which will see a test even of 1,000 fans return to Kenilworth Road after ten months away due to the Coronavirus.

“(There’s) no dislocation,” manager Nathan Jones confirmed, adding: “He’s in a little bit of pain but there’s a lot we can do to alleviate that.

“We recalled Harry Isted back as a precaution, just in case something happens.

“Whereas Harry would be preparing for a game at Wealdstone today, we had to recall him because we need him in and around it, to take the weight off Sluga training.

“We’ll have to assess him and see how he is. If he’s fit enough to play, no dislocation, which is a good thing, so it’s just pain management, really.”

Asked if the keeper would need pain medication to play, Jones said: “We have to manage that. There’s no damage to the shoulder, which is a bonus.

“Now, because there’s obviously been a slight trauma from over-extending, then there’s a slight pain in there.

“That pain has had to settle down on Saturday night, Sunday and Monday.

“We’ve had a look at him today and we’ve got a decision to make on whether he’ll be ready.”

Jones was keeping his cards close to his chest about team selection tomorrow but suggested that injuries may be easing.

Left back Dan Potts hasn’t featured at all this term, while striker Danny Hylton has missed the last three games with a calf problem and Kazenga LuaLua has missed the last two matches.

Jones said: “We’ve had two new additions to our first team match day squad, so that will be good, obviously not going to give you names now as I could give a bit away, but we should have some different names tomorrow.”
