Rhys Norrington-Davies has been confirmed as a Stoke City player claimed they’re a better “stepping stone” than Luton to his dream of being a Premier League player.
The left back was recalled from his season-long loan with the Hatters today by parent club Sheffield United, who then sent him straight to the Potters for the remainder of the campaign.
The 21-year-old had made 18 appearances for Town since joining in the summer and earned his full international debut with Wales while at Kenilworth Road.
But after his switch this evening, Norrington-Davies told Stoke’s website: “From my point of view, I’ve got high ambitions. At the end of the day, I want to become a Premier League player and I feel like this is a stepping stone from where I was.
“Obviously, no disrespect to Luton at all. They’re a great club, massive club, but I just feel like this is the best move for me at the moment, to come into this system, 4-3-3.
“Hopefully, I’ll be playing week in, week out at left back and just bring my game to Stoke and show everyone what I’m about.
“I’ve spoken to the gaffer at Luton and I’m very grateful for the opportunity they gave me. I made my Championship debut with them and it helped me get on the international scene with Wales.”
