Sonny Bradley says Luton will be in for a hiding from Leicester City tonight in the Carabao Cup, if they defend like they did in the final 30 minutes against Hull at the weekend.
Town play host to the Premier League outfit in the third round of the competition, coming off the back of a double defeats where, on each occasion, they’ve conceded three in disastrous half an hour spells.
Bradley said: “Leicester is a tough game and if we play like we did in the second half (against Hull) then we could be in big trouble.
“Leicester are on the telly most weeks and we know they are dangerous, there is no two ways about it. It’s going to be a tough test. So, we’ll have to be on our A-game, we’ll have to give 100 per cent if we want to compete.”
The Foxes will arrive at Kenilworth Road having beaten Champions League finalists Tottenham in the top-flight at the weekend and after fielding a strong side to despatch Newcastle in the previous stage of the cup.
It’s a challenge,” said Bradley, adding: “For Leicester, it’s possibly the best chance this season for silverware, so you’d imagine they’ll attack it with a really strong team, especially judging on previously in the competition. It’s going to be difficult, we know that, but we are up for the challenge.”
The League Cup is the only competition where Town has managed to keep a clean sheet this season, when they beat Cardiff 3-0 in the previous round.
Asked if there was a tougher tie than a in-form Leicester side, Bradley joked: “Man City.
“No, look, it is a very difficult challenge, Leicester. There is no two ways about it they’re doing well at the minute. They’ll probably look at this result and think it could be an easy game for them, but we’ve shown good character already this season.
“We’ve come up against some good opposition and had a good game, so we know it’s going to be difficult, we know that.
“Like I say, there are good characters in the squad and we do have winners in this team, so we’ve got to analyse it and find a way to win.”
