Luton are reportedly on the verge of finalising a £2.8million deal to sign Norwegian striker Lasse Nordås from Tromsø.

Renowned global transfer specialist football journalist Fabrizio Romano today posted on X: “Luton Town agree deal to sign Lasse Nordås from Tromsø on four year and half contract. Deal completed today, as @StianWahl reports.”

In two different posts on social media, Norwegian football journalist, Stian André de Wahl, wrote: “Tromsø agrees with a club in the Championship in England about a big deal for Lasse Nordås. TIL states that he has left the club’s training camp to complete a transfer.

“Lasse Nordås is on his way to Luton Town FC to complete the final details. Tromsø is secured around DKK 35 million. NOK + bonuses to just under 40 in total for the striker.”

Tromsø’s official website also addressed the situation, stating: “Lasse has left the club’s training camp to complete the mandatory training. This is one of the biggest transfers in the club’s history. No one from the club will comment on anything until everything is completed.”

When asked by the BBC if he had any news on the transfer, Luton manager Matt Bloomfield responded with a knowing smile and said: “Not right now.”

Pressed further about whether his grin hinted at the rumours being true, Bloomfield said: “It’s up to you!”

Nordås, 22, began his professional journey with Lillestrøm but didn’t break into the first team. In 2020, he made a move to First Division side Strommen, where he found the net nine times in 26 appearances.

His performances earned him a transfer to Eliteserien giants Bodo/Glimt in 2021. During his stint there, he scored six goals in 38 matches and had a loan spell with Tromsø in 2022. The move became permanent a year later, with Nordås tallying an impressive 18 goals across 63 appearances for the club.

In addition to his domestic achievements, Nordås has featured in European competitions, including the UEFA Conference League and Champions League qualifiers. He also boasts international experience, having represented Norway at the U19, U20, and U21 levels, scoring three goals in 12 appearances for the U21 squad.
