Newcastle ace linked again with Luton loan

Newcastle United teenager Elliot Anderson is reportedly close to penning a loan deal with Luton – a year after interest first emerged.

The attacking midfielder was linked again with a move to Kenilworth Road in the summer transfer window and Hatters boss Nathan Jones confirmed the 19-year-old was on their radar.

An injury and lack of a pre-season meant that interest was tempered and when asked in September about Anderson, Jones said: “We know Elliot very, very well. We enquired about him in December (2020), but he’s been injured, so there was never any legs in that, but Elliot’s someone we know about and is on our list.

“There are quite a lot of them, so no legs in that because he’s been injured, he hasn’t done a pre-season, hasn’t trained, so no legs whatsoever on that.”

But The Athletic are now reporting that a loan move is now close, as Newcastle are working on a deal to sign Burnley striker Chris Wood.

That may also be music to Luton fans’ ears after the Magpies were last month linked to Town’s top scorer Elijah Adebayo.

  1. Hey, just looking around some blogs, seems a pretty nice platform you are using and the theme as well. I’m currently using WordPress for a few of my sites but looking to change one of them over to a platform similar to yours as a trial run. Anything in particular you would recommend about it? Have a nice Tuesday!
