Luton Town midfielder Gideon Kodua will be sidelined until the new year after undergoing surgery on a hamstring injury.
The 22-year-old was forced off just before the half-hour mark during the Hatters’ Jersey Mike’s EFL Trophy match at Colchester United last Saturday.
Scans revealed the extent of the damage and confirmed that surgery was required to repair the injury. The former West Ham youngster has since undergone the operation and begun his rehabilitation with the club’s medical staff at The Brache.
The news comes ahead of Luton’s return to League One action at Kodua’s former loan club Wycombe Wanderers tomorrow.
In a statement, the club wished the attacker a “safe and speedy recovery” as he begins his rehabilitation.
Kodua joins Jayden Luker and Shaydon Morris, who have been been sidelined with hamstring injuries this term.
